I’m a retailer on Ebay, and someone order the product, but Paypal put it on hold. What can I do? | eBay Vendors
post Category: ebay dropship — admin @ 2:51 pm — post

Someone ordered a product that I sell as a retailer on Ebay. I accepts Paypal, and as soon as I withdraw his money from paypal into my bank account, I will order the products from the wholesale supplier and will dropship it for him right away. But Paypal put the payment on hold! I can’t withdraw it. Why is that? And what would I need to do? Please help me out if you can. Thanks.

the payment has not cleared to you yet - DO NOT DO ANYTHING until it clears, or you risk getting ripped off if the payment bounces - they may be paying by echeck which takes a few days to clear

Horaayy..there are 3 comment(s) for me so far ;)

I think that this means that the buyer doens’t have sufficient funds in their account, but that their account is linked to a bank account. You need to wait until Paypal have debited their bank account before the transaction is complete. This usually takes about 3 days but can sometimes take 5-7.

Just email the seller and tell them that their transaction hasn’t cleared yet, but that you will post the item when it does clear.

DON’T send the product until it has cleared.

First of all, once you have received the payment from your Buyer you will be expected to send the item immediately (the Buyer will expect it yesterday if you are to maintain any of your DSR stars in tact and thereby your future selling ability)
Secondly you should NEVER wait till you have transferred the Paypal payment to your Bank Account before sending the item (LET ALONE THEN ORDERING IT) If you do this DROPPSHIPPING it won’t be long before your ebay selling account is in trouble.
Also makes no difference if there is no money in your Paypal account if things go wrong as Paypal will get iit back from you (and Buyer can do chargebacks for up to 9 months anyway)

Thirdly, the payment is on 21 days hold with Paypal as you are below !00 feedback, and probably selling (dropshipping) expensive ’scamable’ items such as mobiles/computers
This is to safeguard the Buyer, your funds will be released after feedback from Buyer or 21 days.
You will be 100% covered if you send to your Buyer (trackable and insured to the correct value- can your dropshipper do this)
The pitfalls of dropshipping are your reputation is in their hands
To be a retailer you need cashflow and not rely on payment first before purchasing the item- oh if it were that simple; it’s not
